There are many reasons you might know the name Mike Tindall.
He is, of course, the husband of Zara Phillips and son-in-law of Anne, the Princess Royal.
Mike, who turns 45 today, has appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! while sports fans know him for hisheroics as a member of England’s 2003 World Cup winning Rugby Union side and the joint host of a popular rugby podcast.
Those closer to him, meanwhile, know Mike as a devoted family man – and a truly awful dancer.
Speaking during his time on I’m A Celebrity, heshared a hilarious confessionabout an awkward encounter with Princess Anne in the course of Zara’sthemed 30th birthday party.

Mike recalled the episode when he took part in last year’s I’m A Celebrity
He explained:’I had like flares on, full outfit but it was quite tight, nothing ever fits – rugby players bum and legs! – so I was dancing with my mother-in-law and I did a “slut drop” in front of my mother-in-law.’
Mike continued: ‘Ripped my trousers, straight in front of her. It happened to be that my boxers that I had on at that time said “nibble my nuts”.’
Anne, he said, had ready response.
‘As Ive turned round, shes gone, “Id rather not.”
‘Ive gone, “Im going” and walked off.’
Having become accustomed to his own wardrobe mishaps, Mike carries spare suits with him wherever he goes.
Thankfully, this means the father-of-three is well-equipped for whatever celebrations might take place today.
Mike met Zara during England’s Rugby World Cup-winning campaign in Australia in 2003 and the two married in 2011. Today they havethree children, Mia, nine, Lena, five, and Lucas, two.
Candidly discussing their first date, he recalled: ‘First actual date, just went out for lunch locally. And ended up being quite a boozy one. Then we figured out that we both quite like getting smashed. It was a good start.’
Mike added: ‘I was at the World Cup, she was out watching. I got dropped from the semi-final. I was p****d off and so I went for a beer with another guy who got dropped and a guy who was over [in Sydney]. They’d met her before and they introduced us and then got chatting.’
Mike and his wife Zara do not carry any official titles or duties
