Meghan Markle joined the Invictus Games athletes and audience members in celebrating Prince Harry’s 39th birthday in Dsseldorf, Germany, on Friday.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were attending the sporting event’s volleyball game between Poland and Germany when the crowd rang out in a rendition of “Happy Birthday” for the redheaded royal.
Harry was seen chatting with people in the stands when an announcer surprised him and asked attendees to join in on celebrating the birthday boy.
At first, the prince appeared unaware that he was getting a shout-out until his wife playfully grabbed his shoulders to clue him in on the surprise.
Harry was then spotted blushing as he smiled, appearing touched by the outpouring of love.
He clapped along as a beaming Markle, 42, sat beside him and sweetly rubbed his back. When the song was over, Harry thanked the crowd before turning to converse with a little boy on his other side.
The duke wore a crisp blue button-down shirt for the occasion, while the duchess continued her chic fashion streak in a cream blazer layered over a relaxed white romper that tied at the waist. She accessorized with a gold pendant necklace, gold hoop earrings and black sandals.
The night before his actual DOB, Harry, Markle and a group of friends had a low-key birthday celebration at a local Dsseldorf brewery called Schumacher.
Head waiter Frank Wackers dished on the festivities, revealing Harry knocked back six beers while Markle sipped on one.
“They were very happy, Wackers told the Daily Mail. He is a lovely man, and they were so nice.
Harry and his posse enjoyed local cuisine like wiener schnitzel, pork knuckle, sausage, roast and mashed potatoes, and the venue presented him with a white chocolate birthday cake.
The server, who has worked at the establishment for nearly four decades, shared that the Sussexes seemed very relaxed and that the birthday boy had a very jolly time.
Harry and Markle then enthusiastically posed for a photo with staffers before calling it a night.
The former “Suits” star joined her husband at the Invictus Games, which kicked off last week, on Tuesday and has wowed in all of her looks every day since.

She then graced the games with her presence intwo-toned $1,350 Chanel slingbacks before turning up the next day in $790Herms sneakers.
Days later, she appeared in a less flashy yet equally stylish fall look, wearing a brown blouse and trousers.
While Markle’s pricey style choices seem to be causing a distraction from the games themselves, her aides assured the Telegraph that much of her wardrobe is either vintage or being re-worn.
Her staffers also claimed that she is not traveling with a makeup artist or hairdresser, leaving the duchess to take care of her own glam.
Throughout their visit, Harry and Markle, who wed in May 2018, have appeared loved-up and smitten with each other. They have continuously held hands during the events and were quite touchy-feely at Thursday’s match.
Harry founded the Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick soldiers and veterans, in 2014 and has played an integral role in the competitions each year since.
However, the Sussexes’ estrangement from the rest of the royal family has allegedly cast a shadow over the games, which are intended to highlight heroic servicemen and women.
Harry and Markle’s relationship with Prince William, Kate Middleton and King Charles III has been tense since the duo resigned from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to Montecito, Calif., where they now reside with their two kids: Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
Harry made matters even worse in January when he released his bombshell memoir, “Spare,” and aired all his family’s dirty laundry. He notably claimed his brother, 41, had physically attacked him and that their father, 74, referred to him as the “spare” heir to the throne on the day of his birth.
Meanwhile, Markle who is rumored to have a frosty relationship with Middleton has slammed her in-laws in several interviews, claiming members of the royal family exhibited racist behavior and didn’t provide help when she came forward about having suicidal thoughts.
The Sussexes’ appearance in Dsseldorf marks the first time they have traveled to Europe together since attending Queen Elizabeth IIs funeral in September 2022.
Harry took a solo trip to the UK to attend Charles and Queen Camillas coronation ceremony in May and was back again last week for a WellChild charity event and to mourn his grandmother at Windsor Castle before heading over to the Invictus Games.
The sporting event will conclude on Saturday.
